My Carl likes to fish and I keep myself busy with a camera on our outings. I really like this old cottage right on the Trent River. I took some photos to use in the studio later. This was in the early fall just as the leaves started to yellow.

About this piece:
This piece was inspired by a gardening magazine photo. I like the textures of the wool sweater and the jacket. Once I completed this piece I started to think about working hands. I think a few more studies with hands working would be fun to tackle.

About the piece:
I found some old photos I took last spring and dreamed about the day when the peonies in my garden might finally pop up. This early spring has been cold and snowy but I know they are down there waiting for the sun. I was able to capture the delicate fleeting nature of these favourite flowers of mine.
